Open Science Workshop

The Open Science Workshop is a bi-annual, one-day workshop that serves as an introduction to the different Open Science topics at MLU. It offers an overview on the most important core topics and allows members of MLU, students and proferssors alike, an opportunity to ask questions and discuss everyday work-related problems. In the spirit of openness, participation is possible for everybody free of charge and without registration. A certificate of participation can be issued, a participant’s list can be found at the workshop.

The Open Science Workshop is done in cooperation with the @LLZ as well as the university’s legal department. The following topics are presented:

  • Open Access – Green, Gold and Platin Open Access, as well as publishing options at MLU
  • Research Data and Long-Term Archiving – information on the importance of data management plans and working with difficult data formats
  • Data Protection and Copyright – information on working with sensitive data, as well as author’s rights
  • Open Educational Resources – use and creation of free materials for teaching
